HP Slate 7

Hewlett-Packard announced the launch of the HP Slate 7 at the Mobile World Congress. The 7-inch tablet runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Specs include an ARM Dual Core Cortex-A9 1.6 GHz processor, 1024 x 600 resolution touchscreen, 8GB of solid state storage, dual cameras, stereo speakers with Beats Audio, microSD slot, micro-USB port and 1GB of RAM.

Prices for the HP Slate 7 will start at $169.99 when it launches in April. Red will be one of the available colors. The Verge also reports that HP is planning to launch multiple tablets this year and vow to be the "number one computer vendor." It is good to see HP taking tablets seriously.

Engadget says they like the feel and design of the HP Slate 7 in a hands on review.
