Japanese Scientists Invent Robot Maid

Posted on October 29, 2008

Scientists at a Japanese robot research center have created a robot that can do some basic household chores. The robot can mop the floor, do the laundry and clean the kitchen. Reuters says the robot "can find a dirty shirt, throw it into a washing machine and push the buttons to wash and rinse and spin dry clothes."

Rosie - the Maid from the Jetsons - is getting closer to reality but sadly the scientists say a robot maid is still a decade or longer before being mass-produced. Here's the video of the robot maid in action.
