JCPenney Partners With Stardoll.com
Posted on February 12, 2011J. C. Penney and Stardoll.com have announced plans to launch a Stardoll brand of clothing and accessories for tween girls. Stardoll.com is an online community that allows teen/tween girls to create and dress their own personalized "MeDoll" avatars. The collaboration means the virtual Stardoll fashions will soon be available in the real world. This new brand will launch in 300 JCPenney stores and on jcp.com for the 2011 back-to-school season.
Clark McNaught, senior vice president and general merchandising manager for JCPenney's children's division, said, "Given the enormous popularity of Stardoll, which has over 90 million members around the world, bringing the Stardoll brand to life presents an exceptional opportunity to reinforce JCPenney as the first-choice style destination for tween girls."
The first Stardoll collection to launch exclusively at JCPenney will feature a candy-colored array of tops and bottoms adorned with girly embellishments such as sparkling glitter and 3-D appliques for girls sizes 7-16. The collection will retail from $11.99 - $23.99. An additional collection inspired by the young Latina customer will debut for holiday.
