Jon Favreau Discusses His New Movie Chef and Training With Chef Roy Choi

Chef Movie Still

Jon Favreau was a guest on Conan O'Brien's show to promote his new film Chef in which he plays a brilliant chef who gets fired after refusing to cook the restaurant menu. So he starts a food truck and finds adventure.

Favreau told Conan that he trained hard to be able to look like he knew what he was doing in the movie. He went to cooking school and trained under Roy Choi, the founder of the Kogi food-truck empire. He got so into cooking that he's having his kitchen torn out and replaced with a full, commercial kitchen. He loves to smoke meat and has three smokers in his back yard. In fact, he brought "a dimebag of brisket" to share with Conan and Andy. The smoked brisket looked pretty tasty, we have to say. It took 14 hours to smoke. Jon says he's seen Seth Rogen tweet about smoking brisket and wants to challenge him to a brisket-off. The movie is in selected theaters and co-stars Scarlett Johansson and Sofia Vergara. The reviews are excellent and we can't wait to see it. Take a look:
