Julianne Moore walks the red carpet in Givenchy at 2015 Golden Globes

Julianne Moore had a fabulous night at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards. She won Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her role as an early onset Alzheimer's patient in the film Still Alice. She also looked fabulous.

Julianne wore a Givenchy Haute Couture gown that was custom made for her by Riccardo Tisci. The gown featured a silver sequined bodice with a form fitting skirt with an ombre effect using silver and black feathers. Ryan Seacrest asked her if she helped design the gown and she laughed and said she told them that she loves feathers. She accessorized with diamond earrings by Chopard.

On the red carpet she talked about how she became an actress. She said that what she really wanted to be was a librarian. She says that acting is like being inside a book, which is an interesting perspective.

This is a big win for Julianne: this was a very tough field. She edged out Felicity Jones for The Theory of Everything, Rosamund Pike for Gone Girl, Reese Witherspoon for Wild and Jennifer Aniston for Cake. Oscar nominations are coming this week and it will be interesting to see how the Best Actress category sorts out.
