Keio Plaza Displays Girls' Day Dolls and Artwork

The Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo is hosting a special art and crafts exhibit to celebrate the Girls' Day Doll Festival. The festival is known as Hina-matsuri. It runs from February 1 to March 3, 2015.Families pray for the health and happiness of female children during Hina-matsuri. The dolls on display include Imperial Palace style dolls and woodblock prints of dolls created by Hasui Kawase. The exhibit also includes Japanese dolls created by artist Shinkyo Nakamura. The exhibit also features a hanging decoration comprised of 5,500 handmade quilt decorations. It stands 3.3 meters tall.
