Keira Knightley Stars in Domestic Violence Ad

Posted on April 2, 2009

Keira Knightley has filmed a new Public Service Announcement for the British anti-domestic violence charity, Womens' Aid. The ad was directed by BAFTA-winning director, Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice). In the ad Keira herself is a victim of a violent attack and there's an interesting twist. It's disturbing, so you've been warned. But it's very, very effective in getting the message across. Take a look:

Keira explained why she did the ad:

"I wanted to take part in this advert for Women's Aid because while domestic violence exists in every section of society we rarely hear about it. Domestic violence affects one in four women at some point in their lifetime and kills two women every week."
