KFC to Repair Potholes in Four Cities

Posted on March 26, 2009

KFC has decided to repair potholes to build goodwill. Reuters reports that KFC sent offers to mayors nationwide asking to describe the status of their city's potholes. KFC plans to pay for pothole repairs in four of the cities. The ex-potholes will temporarily have a stenciled "re-freshed by KFC" logo once repaired.

"Budgets are tight for cities across the country, and finding funding for needed road repairs is a continuing challenge," Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson said in a news release.

Some of the filled potholes will also be stenciled with a logo that says they were "re-freshed by KFC." The spokesman said the stenciling will be done with nonpermanent spray chalk, so they will eventually go away.

It's a clever idea because no one likes potholes and people will be glad KFC got rid of them. KFC is already repairing potholes in Louisville, Kentucy, where KFC is based. Ad Age also has a story about KFC's pothole repair plans. Sure the repair leaves a little KFC ad but potholes fixed for free seems worth it. NPR reports that 350 potholes in Louisville, Kentucky will be repaired by KFC.
