Kim Kardashian's Visit to Bahrain Causes Riots

Posted on December 2, 2012

Kim Kardashian's trip to Bahrain caused protests and riots. Bahrain had to bring in riot police to quell protests by hardline Islamists. Tear gas was fired on the protesters. Reuters reports that some angry Muslim hardliners tried to block Kim's visit because of her "bad reputation." Kim also has die-hard fans in the region. Reuters says some fans paid the U.S. equivalent of over $1,300 a ticket to see her at the Millions of Milkshakes franchise in Bahrain.

Kim ignored the protestors and posted positive tweets on her Twitter. In one tweet Kim wrote, "Thanks Sheikh Khalifa for your amazing hospitality. I'm in love with The Kingdom of Bahrain."

Kim also helped open a Millions of Milkshakes store in Kuwait. She wore a white dress with cutouts for the opening of the Kuwait milkshake store. Take a look:
