Lenovo Unveils New ThinkPad Laptop Series

Lenovo introduced a new ThinkPad laptop series called ThinkPad Edge at this year's Consumer Electronic Show (CES). The ThinkPad Edge comes in 13, 14 and 15 inch models. The 13 inch model is the first ThinkPad laptop to offer AMD dual core processor technology. The new models include a streamlined keyboard described as contemporary (see below) - the embedded number pad has been removed. The new laptops also have a large multitouch touchpad. The models come in Midnight Black and Heatwave Red (pictured above). Other features include Windows 7, battery life of up to 8 hours, low-light-sensitive Web camera and Gigabit Ethernet, WWAN with GPS, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth and WiMAX connectivity options. The ThinkPad Edge 13 inch is available now with models starting at approximately $549 at lenovo.com. The 14 and 15 inch versions will be available starting in 2Q 2010. Select Best Buy stores in the U.S. will offer the 14 inch version.
