LG has announced the availability of its LG Ultra HD TV 79-inch model 79UB9800. The television has four times the resolution of a 1080p Full HD television. The TV is being sold at Video and Audio Center's Santa Monica store. LG's UB9800 series also includes 65 and 84-inch screen sizes. A 98 inch model to be introduced later this year. The 79-inch Ultra HD TV costs $7,999.

The new TVs use LG's webOS Smart TV platform, which LG says makes it easier to find and transition between content options. WebOS features what LG calls a "launcher bar" menu enabling you to switch to previously viewed content with one click. The UB9800 series also features LG's Ultra Surround sound system.

LG had its Ultra HD TVs on display at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. The company also had a 105-inch curved Ultra HD television at CES.
