Actor and rapper LL Cool J has announced plans to launch Authentic, his 14th studio album on April 30, 2013 through 429 Records. LL recently hosted the Grammy Awards. 429 Records says LL's new album offers "crazy club jams, tender tracks, personal tributes, and hard-hitting commentary addressing the current hip-hop climate."

LL said in a statement, "With Authentic, I wanted to work on a project that was for the true fans. I'm not trying to compete with 17-year-olds on the radio, but I am talking directly to the folks who came up with me. We may not be teenagers anymore, but we do still like to have fun."

LL has been making hip-hop records since 1984 and has outlasted many flash-in-the-pan rappers. He is tied for third place for most Billboard charts by a rapper.
