Louis Vuitton is opening a giant, three story space inside French department store Printemps. The new space is 4,300 square feet. The ground floor will open in mid-June and will sell accessories, watches and fine jewelry. The second and third floors will open later in the summer. WWD reports:
"The business in Paris is doing extremely well," Schaus said, describing a thriving business at Galeries, where there is often a queue, thanks partly to an explosion in Chinese tourism and a new fashion floor added in 2008.

Vuitton expects the Printemps unit to attract a different clientele, including fashion-conscious Right Bank residents and growing ranks of tourists from the Middle East and Russia. "They are really filling a void in Paris," Schaus said.
Louis Vuitton has three of its own stores in Paris, including the flagship store on the Champs-Elysees. The luxury company will retain its strict no discounts, no sales policies even though it is in the middle of a department store that frequently has sales. Vuitton execs say that the store within a store is a way to lure in customers who might be too intimidated to walk in the door of one of its freestanding boutiques.
