Man Pulls Semi-automatic Weapon in Line-Cutting Incident at Sears Black Friday Sale

Posted on November 23, 2012

A man pulled a gun while in line waiting for Black Friday deals at a Sears store in San Antonio, Texas. There was a line of people waiting to get inside the store at 9:00 pm on Thanksgiving night, when one man cut in line. Another man, Jose Alonzo Salame, 35, told the guy that he couldn't cut in line. Then the line cutter punched Jose, so Jose pulled his black 9 mm semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the ground. At that point, everyone freaked out and scattered. The line cutter, Alejandro Alex, 35, ran and hid behind a refrigerator and someone called the cops. At that point Jose holstered his weapon and everyone resumed shopping.

Officer Matthew Porter told the San Antonio Express-News, "We don't see this very often...he was within his rights." Jose had a valid permit to carry a concealed permit and did not fire his weapon and did not break any laws. He said after getting punched in the face he pulled his gun, fearing further injury.

Jose missed his doorbuster, but he got a voucher from Sears.
