Man With Tuberculosis Flies Despite Being on Do Not Board List

Posted on January 12, 2010

CBS News is reporting that a passenger ill with tuberculosis was been detained after boarding a flight from Philadelphia to San Francisco. The passenger managed to get on the flight despite being on a "do-not-board" list. He was detained once the flight arrived in San Francisco but that won't be reassuring to the people who were on the plane with him.
CDC officials said the passenger was detained and taken to a local hospital after a U.S. Airways flight arrived in San Francisco Saturday night.

The unidentified male passenger was apparently placed on a do-not-board list submitted to the TSA and CDC on January 8, 2010.

Investigators are trying to determine how the noticeably ill man made it through security checkpoints and onto the flight.
It's not good that someone made it on board a plane who was ill especially when the TSA is supposed to be checking the do not fly lists extra closely for terrorists. How was this passenger missed?
