Massive 100 Car Accident in South Texas Leaves Two Dead, Dozens Injured

This morning near Beaumont, Texas, a heavy fog caused a massive auto accident on Interstate 10. Trucks, semi-trailers, cars and vans all crashed into each other: 100 cars were involved in the massive pile up. Two people are dead and at least 35 people were injured, some of them critically. The Daily Mail has images of the accident site which are pretty shocking. I-10 had to be closed due to the massive number of cars which were twisted and torn in the accident. A number of Fed Ex trucks are crumpled, with packages spilling out the back. It was a horrific crash. Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Deputy Rod Carroll said the fog was so thick in the area that deputies couldn't even see that there were multiple accidents when they got to the scene. Everyone was going around 70 miles per hour and the results were devastating. Texas has recently raised the speed limits on most of its highways from 55 mph to 70 mph and above that in some areas.
