Meat Shopping Safety Tips

Urvashi Rangan from Consumer Reports has some great advice you can use when you are shopping for meat. One tip is to shop for your fish and meat at the end of your shopping trip so it stays cooler longer. Other tips include check the sell-by date, give the meat a smell test and check for moisture on the outside of the packaging. She also says shoppers should consider bringing a cooler bag to keep purchased meats in before they get home to the refrigerator or freezer. Take a look:
