Microsoft Launches Surface Book Laptop

Microsoft unveiled an impressive news device called the Surface Book at a press event on October 6. Microsoft bills as the ultimate laptop. The Surface Book can function as a laptop or the detachable touchscreen can be used as a large tablet.

The Surface Book has a 13.5-inch detachable PixelSense display with a 3000x2000 resolution. The Surface Book also features a special hinge, called the dynamic fulcrum hinge, which enables users to turn the screen around and reattach it as a creative canvas. The device comes with a Surface Pen for graphics, photo and video editing.

The laptop weighs 3.34 pounds. It is available in Core Intel i5 and Core Intel i7 configurations. The most powerful setup is a Core Intel i7 with a 512GB solid state drive and 16GB of RAM. The Surface Book runs Windows 10 Pro and it can run all the Microsoft Office software. The laptop has 12 hours of battery life. The ports available include 2 USB 3.0 ports, SD card reader, Surface Connect, headset jack and mini DisplayPort. It has a 5.0 megapixel front-facing camera and a 8.0 megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus. The rear-facing camera can record 1080p HD video. It has dual microphones and front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby audio.

Other features include the integrated backlit keyboard. Pricing for the Surface Book starts at $1,499. It will be released on October 26. Take a look:
