Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Tops Christmas Weekend Box Office

Tom Cruise's movie career is alive and well. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol was the big winner over Christmas weekend. The film made $46 million over the holiday weekend. Ghost Protocol was followed by Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, which made another $20 million in its second week in theaters. The number were not as big for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which made just $12.8 million in 2,914 theaters. Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked came in fourth and made $12.7 million.
The Adventures of Tintin made $9.7 in the U.S. where the character is not very well known. However, the overseas box office was huge. The foreign box office for Tintin is already over $239 million
We Bought a Zoo and War Horse failed to entice many moviegoers. We Bought a Zoo made $9.5 million and finished 6th and War Horse made $7.5 million and finished 7. You can see the complete box office report here.
