New South China Mall Becomes Ghost Mall Five Years After Opening

CNN's Ivan Watson reports on China's New South China Mall, which was billed at the world's largest shopping mall when it opened just five years ago. There is lots of activity on the outside, but inside it is empty. Watson's footage of the mall shows a deserted mall. There is lots of garbage in the mall. Watson also says it smells like people have been using the mall as a public restroom. Some businessmen want to turn the mall into an office park. Take a look:
