New Star Wars Toy Line Includes Rey Action Figure

Disney has revealed a second wave of Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys and products. The new Star Wars toys include the long awaited Rey action figure that was missing from the initial toy lineup released in 2015. The toys are available now in stores or will be arriving soon.

The 3.75-inch Rey action figure by Hasbro is pictured below. 12-inch Rey and Finn figures are also available. The new toys also include a Rey blaster. Rey is played by actress Daisy Ridley in the movie.

Disney was heavily criticized for the lack of a female action figure in the initial lineup. Director J.J. Abrams even weighed in on the lack of Rey merchandise and called it "preposterous and wrong that the main character of the movie is not well represented." Abrams said he talked to Hasbro and found out they will be putting Rey in an upcoming Monopoly game.

Elissa Margolis, Senior Vice President, Disney Store, says in a statement, "Rey is a true break out hero in the movie and is proving a huge hit with our guests. Demand for Rey merchandise was strong even before the movie released, with products selling as quickly as we could restock shelves, and it’s only growing with the success of the film."
