Tertill weeding robot

Tertill is a solar powered weeding robot from Franklin Robotics. Joe Jones, the inventor of Tertill, also created Roomba fifteen years ago. The waterproof robot has a built-in weed whacker to destroy weeds. It also has extreme camber wheels, Bluetooth and a weed sensor.

Tertill will turn away from tall plants that are taller than its weed sensor. It will not hit them with its weed cutter. Little plant collars are put around small plants so Tertill knows not to chop them down. Any other plant smaller than Tertill's weed sensors gets whacked.

Franklin Robotics say Tertill can cover about 100 square feet. A barrier is required to keep the little robot from wandering away and wandering into your neighbor's yard or the woods. An app keeps you informed about what Tertill is up to.

Tertill has been launched on Kickstarter where it is already over its $120,000 goal with 20 days remaining. You can currently get one of the weeding bots with a pledge of $249.
