Ouya Releasing New Android Powered Video Game Console

Ouya has developed a new video game console. The Ouya is Android-powered and can plug into a television. The system can then run some Android games. It is also open to developers to create new games.

The system was originally available only through Kickstarter, but the Wall Street Journal reports that Ouya was able to cut deals with retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy and Target, to sell the device for $99 starting in June 2013.

The Ouya team says they want to disrupt the game industry. They are welcoming developers to their open game console. The key to the success of gaming consoles it often the number of quality games available. The video says they will have Minecraft for the Ouya. Take a look:
