Posted on February 12, 2010
President Obama doesn't have time to type in his own Twitter updates so he is looking for help. The Wall Street Journal's Digits blog reports that President Obama is seeking a Social Networks Manager to manage the President's Facebook, Twitter and MySpace accounts.
The job will not be easy. The WSJ says the qualifications for the position read: "Ready to work hard; this isn't a 9-5 sort of job."Mia Cambronero, who currently holds the job, "will be stepping down from my infamous role as 'Barack Obama's twitterer,'" she said in an email message posted to a listserv. "We're looking for someone who is available to start immediately."
The new hire will work closely with the rest of the new media department to execute grassroots campaigns to advance the President's agenda for change, the listing says. Among the qualifications sought: "Ready to work hard; this isn't a 9-5 sort of job."
Barack Obama's Twitter account has impressive reach. He has over 3.2 million followers and he is listed on over 43,000 Twitter lists.
