President Trump Slams Nordstrom for Dropping Ivanka's Fashion Line

Posted on February 8, 2017

Nordstrom recently dropped Ivanka Trump's brand. The high-end retailer carried Ivanka's clothing, shoes and accessories. Nordstrom's removal of the brand resulted in an angry tweet from President Trump this morning.

Ivanka recently moved to D.C. and will be working in the East Wing of the White House.

Nordstrom removed Ivanka's line from its website last week. They are also not carrying it anymore in stores but still have product on hand according to The Cut. Ivanka does sell her brand from her website, IvankaTrump.com.

Nordstrom told MarketWatch that its decision to stop carrying the Ivanka Trump line was based on poor performance. Nordstrom says, "Each year we cut about 10% and refresh our assortment with about the same amount. In this case, based on the brand's performance, we've decided not to buy it for this season."

Donald Trump said in a tweet, "My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person -- always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!"

President Trump is understandably upset that his daughter's line was dropped but he needs to keep the White House and his daughter's business separate. He also needs to stop tweeting about specific companies.

CNN reports that the White House says Trump has every right to slam Nordstrom.
