Queen Elizabeth Makes Surprise Appearance at Couple's Wedding

John and Frances Canning got the surprise of a lifetime when Queen Elizabeth II actually showed up at their wedding in Manchester, England. The couple had heard her majesty would be in town to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee, and sent her an invitation. A lady in waiting wrote back to say that the Queen could not make it. But the Queen secretly arranged to be there in order to wish the couple well. She and Prince Philip met the couple and posed for photographs. The couple told CNN that it was a wonderful wedding gift. What a lovely thing for the Queen to do. Here is video shot by someone in the wedding party:
