Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey Walk Red Carpet for Mud Premiere

Posted on April 22, 2013

Reese Witherspoon, Matthew McConaughey and writer/director Jeff Nichols walked the red carpet for the New York premiere of Mud. Of course, all any of the journalists wanted to talk about was Reese's arrest for disorderly conduct in Atlanta last week. But no one was talking. Matthew said "no comment, that's too fresh" and wouldn't discuss the incident. Matthew stepped out of his usual fashion comfort zone with a wild plaid suit by Vivienne Westwood. Nichols said it was the first he'd heard of the incident when the first reporter on the red carpet asked him about it.

Reese has brown hair for a movie she's filming. She wore a very cute black Saint Laurent minidress. She did not take reporters' questions. She was really brave to show up on the red carpet. Most stars skip public events right after an embarrassing event like being arrested. But Reese is a tough cookie. She'll bounce back. She's issued a heartfelt apology for her actions. She did cancel an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's show, though, which is a shame. Take a look:
