Report: Amazon.com Buys Diapers.com for $540 Million

Diapers.comFortune reports that Amazon.com is buying Quidsi, the parent of Diapers.com, for $540 million. Fortune says Amazon is interested in Diapers.com because it is a "rapidly growing company with a devoted base of customers that has figured out how to warehouse and ship commodity items quickly and profitably."

Quidsi also runs Soap.com and BeautyBar.com. Its Diapers.com website also runs a baby registry.

TechFlash reports that Amazon.com had been running big diaper discounts in an attempt to undercut Diapers.com. Now that they own the company. this diaper discounting battle will end.
