Report: Walmart to Test Online Grocery Delivery Service in San Jose

Posted on April 3, 2011

Bloomberg is reporting that retail giant Walmart is plannign to test a grocery delivery service in the San Jose area. The project is called Project Titan, but it has not been given final approval.

If Walmart ends up launching a grocery delivery service, it will compete with several others, including Peapod, Netgrocer, Schwan's and Amazon Fresh. The concept of deliverable groceries that are ordered online appears to be the future of grocery delivery but the costs to get to an affordable solution that is desirable by customers will be expensive and complex.
