Robots Learn How To Pair Socks

Robots have learned another important skill. The same UC Berkeley researchers that taught robots how to fold towels have now taught robots how to pair socks. Robots are becoming laundry wizards thanks to these researchers. The PR2 robot is presented with two socks. The robot then classifies each sock as either "inside" or "outside" and flips accordingly. Once both socks are in the proper orientation, it pairs them. We would like to see the robot try and do this with a big pile of different colored socks and match them. Take a look:
