Rupert Murdoch Tweets About Cruise-Holmes Divorce, Says Scientology is a Cult, Possibly Evil
Posted on July 1, 2012The Chairman of News Corp, Rupert Murdoch, came out swinging against Scientology and Tom Cruise this afternoon. Murdoch tweeted about Scientology, calling it a "weird cult" whose members are possibly "evil":
Scientology back in news.Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hiearchy.— Rupert Murdoch(@rupertmurdoch) July 1, 2012
He then discussed the Katie Holmes/Tom Cruise divorce saying, "Watch Katie Holmes and Scientology story develop. Something creepy, maybe even evil, about these people."
Those tweets generated a lot of hate tweets from Scientologists, but Murdoch was unfazed tweeting: "Since Scientology tweet hundreds of attacks. Expect they will increase and get worse and maybe threatening. Still stick to my story."
So what's this all about? We have a theory. Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise's first wife who had a nasty parting with Scientology, is godmother to Murdoch's two youngest daughters. No doubt Murdoch has some inside information about the infamously nasty Cruise/Kidman divorce in which the Catholic Kidman lost physical custody of her kids. Nicole reportedly wanted out of Scientology and that led to their split when Cruise surprised Nicole with divorce papers days before their tenth wedding anniversary.
