Ruth Negga Wears Red Valentino Gown to 2017 Oscars

Posted on March 1, 2017

Ruth Negga walked the red carpet in a red Valentino gown at the 2017 Oscars. The bold red color made her Oscar gown really stand out from others at the awards ceremony. She accessorized with Bally shoes and jewelry by Irene Neuwirth and Gemfields. She also wore a blue ACLU support ribbon.

Ruth's gown was made from red silk chiffon and features delicate incrustations of red Chantilly lace. It was designed by Valentino Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli. Valentino shared a sketch of the gown on Instagram. Ruth also wore some amazing ruby jewelry. Vogue reports that her tiara-like headpiece featured "146 carats of Gemfields Mozambican rubies set in blackened white gold."

Ruth Negga was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role as Mildred in the film Loving. She currently stars at Tulip O'Hare in the series Preacher on AMC.
