Samsung Z Smartphone

Samsung has unveiled its Samsung Z smartphone. The smartphone is being introduced at the Tizen Developer Conference. It is billed as the first Tizen smartphone. Tizen is a new open-source operating system for a variety of devices, including phones, wearable devices, vehicles and television.

The Samsung Z features a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED 1280 x 720 screen, 2GB of RAM and a 2.3 GHz Quad-core processor. The internal memory of 16GB can be expanded to 64GB using the microSD slot. The device weighs 136 grams.

Samsung says users can tailor the Samsung Z layout to what is best for them by using a tool called "Dynamic Box." The layout and color settings on the device can also be easily changed. The Samsung Z will launch first in Russia this fall before becoming available in other countries.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Samsung and Intel are backers of the new Tizen technology. They are behind the Tizen developers conference in San Francisco. Samsung is planning other Tizen powered devices. You can find out more about the Tizen operating system at
