Seth Meyers Discusses Wearing a Marc Jacobs Dress and Anna Wintour's Sense of Humor

Posted on June 25, 2012

Seth Meyers was the host of the CFDA Awards and poked fun at the fashion community in his monologue. He also wore the same dress that Marc Jacobs wore to the Met Ball. He wore white boxers under the black see-through dress. Seth revealed that the whole thing was Anna Wintour's idea.

At first Seth was skeptical about the legendary fashion editor giving him comedy advice. Seth explains, "Anna Wintour said to me, 'I have the funniest idea.' And I had this moment where I was like, 'Oh, do you, Anna Wintour, have the funniest idea?' And she was like, "Yes, you should wear Marc Jacobs's Met outfit.' And I was like, 'Ohhh, that is a pretty good idea. You were right, Anna Wintour.'

Seth said the dress was surprisingly comfortable, "I will say, I pulled it on, and I was like, 'Oh, this is going to be awful,' and I put it on, and I was like, 'Oh, this is the nicest thing I've ever worn.' If there's any other segment of my life when it's cool to wear this outfit, I would wear this everywhere. I would wear it doing Weekend Update. It was so comfortable. It was so breezy! But I did wear two pairs of underpants. That was very important."
