Shakira Gets Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame, Dedicates it to U.S. Latino Community

Shakira became the first Columbian to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She said she wanted to dedicate the honor to the Latino community in the U.S. saying, "I want to share this with you because of that unbreakable spirit that we Latinos have, that spirit to overcome all our difficulties with a smile. This star is for you. I think we all come into the world with a star, with a talent and a gift and then our dreams are born." She also spoke of her love for America and how anyone can make their dreams come true here.

Shakira said her mother told her years ago that she would get a star on the walk of fame: "When I was seven years old, I came to Los Angeles for the first time and I remember I was walking along the Walk of Fame and I remember that my mother told me: 'Shaki, one day you're going to have your name embedded here.' I think if someone had heard my mom saying that they would've thought she was hallucinating. And yet here we are."

We just love Shakira. She is the only star so far that has chosen to wear pants instead of a skirt to the ceremony. This allowed her to do fabulous some poses lying on her new star. Now that's impressive. Take a look:
