Skylanders Swap Force Arrives in Stores

Skylanders Swap Force toys arrived in stores on October 13th. The new Skylanders toys have interchangeable top and bottom halves to create over 250 unique character combinations.

There are 16 Swap Force figures available, which the New York Times says range in price from $10 to $15 each. The initial starter pack and platform costs $75 and comes with three figures. The characters and game are available for all the major game consoles including Nintendo Wii, Wii U, Nintendo 3D3, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and Xbox One. They are expected to be one of the biggest items of the holiday 2013 season. A boy is pictured above at the Skylanders Swap Force boutique at the Toys R Us Times Square store.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg said in a release, "Skylanders is a brand built on one thing: magic. With each and every Skylanders title, we want to deliver new, delightful innovations to our young fans that continue to blur the lines between physical and digital play. With Skylanders Swap Force, we've taken this genre to a whole new level by giving players the greatest power of all: choice."
