Sony Announces Project Morpheus, a Virtual Reality System for the PlayStation

Sony has announced Project Morpheus, a virtual reality system for the PlayStation 4. Sony says the device can deliver a sense of presence in video games that was never possible before. Sony says players feel as they they are physically inside the virtual game world. Gamers wear the Morpheus visor style head-mounted display which works with the PlayStation Camera. Morpheus contains inertial sensors so the virtual world moves and rotates as the player moves his head.

Forbes tried out the technology at the Game Developers Conference 2014. Sony says it is currently just a prototype. There is not a timeline for mass production yet. Take a look:
