Sony's Vaio Mannequins Invade Manhattan and Fashion Week
Posted on February 17, 2009
Sony's Vaio Mannequins were seen all over Manhattan earlier this month including at Grand Central Terminal. Sony's models stand as motionless as possible while holding Sony's stylish new Vaio laptops. You can see a video of the models at Grand Central here. Refinery 29 says that Vaio mannequins are now being seen outside the tents at New York Fashion Week as well.
Sony's Vaio laptops have been praised for the design but the laptop is not as powerful as some would like it to be. The Wall Street Journal's Walter Mossberg says the Sony Vaio has sportscar looks without the power. Mossberg says part of the problem is that the Vaio ships with Windows Home Premium instead of Windows XP. He thinks the Vaio might perform better when Windows 7 comes out.
