Target Announces 110 Million Americans' Personal Information Was Obtained in Massive Data Hack

Today Target announced that the giant data breach of its customer's credit and debit card information is even worse than it originally believed. It revised the number of affected Americans from 70 million to 110 million who had their information given to thieves. That's around one third of all American adults who are affected by this massive data hack.

But it gets worse. Target now says that the hackers also stole people's names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses, in addition to the credit and debit card information. The massive amount of personal information will make it much easier for thieves to steal credit card holders' identities. Target must know by now how the hackers pulled off the heist, but it's not saying. The Secret Service and FBI are investigating. CNN reports:
