Teens Continue to Text Like Crazy

Posted on October 20, 2010

The results of a new The Nielsen Company reveal that teens are texting more than ever. Teens were already sending and receiving a ton of texts each month last year. This year teens have boosted their texting by 8%. Teens send and receive an average of 3,339 texts a month or over 6 per every hour they are awake.

Nielsen said in a statement, "If it seems like American teens are texting all the time, it's probably because on average they're sending or receiving 3,339 texts a month. That's more than six per every hour they're awake--an 8 percent jump from last year."

Here are some of the interesting findings from the study.
