The Melt Opens First Location in San Francisco's Financial District

The Melt Combo


The Melt has opened its first location in San Francisco's Financial District. The new fast casual restaurant business is focused on grilled cheese sandwiches and soup. The business was founded by Flip Video founder Jonathan Kaplan.

The Melt serves made-to-order grilled cheese sandwiches and soups. The Melt says it uses only high-quality ingredients, including hearth-baked breads and artisan cheeses. Here are some of the Melt's offerings: Melts costs $5.95 and soups cost $3.95/cup and $5.95/bowl. A Melt and cup of soup combo cost $8.95.

The Melt Restaurant


The Melt plans to open four locations in the Bay Area this year. The Melt plans to expand to 500 locations with in the next five years. Customized cooking equipment was created in order to be able to make the grilled sandwiches quickly enough. Take a look:
