Thierry Mugler Promotes Alien Extraordinaire Fragrance With Virtual Projections in UK Malls

Tensator Virtual Assisant for Thierry Mugler Alien Extraordinaire campaign

Tensator is known for its Tensator Virtual Assistant, a digital signage solution that creates the illusion of a real person. Tensator has created the projection of a goddess-like character to help promote a new Thierry Mugler fragrance called Alien Extraordinaire. The displays can currently be seen in the House of Fraser, in Manchester, Selfridges Trafford Centre and the Metro Centre in Newcastle.

Tensator says the shimmering 6-foot tall projection is a store-based representation of the imagery used in the brand's commercials for the perfume. Tensator says the Clarins Fragrance Group approached them with the concept after seeing their virtual assistants in transport hubs. In the campaign the Sun Goddess awakens and uses the light and energy of the sun to restore her life-source. :

Ajay Joshi, Tensator's head of media and technology, says in a statement, "Creating a seamless projected stature, 6ft high with arms outstretched, was very tricky. We had to work quickly and efficiently to overcome the physical constraints and to explore the various technical solutions available to best fit the requirements. After all our hard work, I am very pleased with the result. The virtual goddess has an amazing presence and aligns to the vision we all shared when we started the journey."
