Thieves smashed through a London boutique with a car yesterday. The boutique is located on Brompton Road in Chelsea. Images of the crime were shared on social media. A drawstring washed denim dark blue handbag from the Chanel Spring 2016 pre-collection is pictured above.

The Telegraph reports that witnesses say the car drove right into the front of the shop in the smash and grab robbery. There is no report on the amount of merchandise that was stolen but social media users not that all the bags are gone.

Actress Lindsay Lohan is one of the Instagram users posting about the robbery. She writes, "Say a prayer someone went through the window! I hope they're okay! I mean I love my #CHANEL @chanelofficial but this person meant business!" For some reason, Lindsay's post also has a lightsaber.

Another Instagram post shared by fashion and lifestyle blogger Julie Tangus says all the bags in the store are gone:

In related news, thieves used a mini-van to smash into a Chanel store in Highland Park Village last week. 50 purses were stolen. In this incident the van was later found and the suspects were arrested. At least some of the stolen bags were recovered. These kinds of brazen robberies are difficult for luxury fashion retailers to prevent.
