Tom Hanks to Present at 83rd Academy Awards

Actor Tom Hanks has been announced as a presenter at the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony by telecast producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer.

Tom Hanks, a governor of the Academy, won consecutive Oscars in 1993 and 1994 for his leading performances in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump. He also has been nominated for his leading roles in Big, Saving Private Ryan and Cast Away. Hanks recently lent his voice to the character Woody in the Best Picture nominee Toy Story 3. He will be seen next in Larry Crowne, on which he also served as director, co-writer and producer. Some of Hanks' other film credits include Charlie Wilson's War, The Da Vinci Code, The Terminal, Catch Me If You Can, Road to Perdition, Apollo 13 and A League of Their Own.

The 83rd Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre and broadcast live on ABC.
