TopShop Opens New York Store

Posted on March 31, 2009

TopShop has opened its Soho store in New York Thursday. WWD reports that the store finally opened after numerous construction delays. The store is stocked with the retailer's typical apparel, with lots of party dresses, jackets, platform heels, skinny jeans and youthful accessories. This is Topshop's first retail store in the U.S. The opening has been highly anticipated by potential shoppers. Sir Philip Green, the owner of Topshop's corporate parent company Arcadia Group told WWD:

"This is genuinely the best store we have ever built...We see this as a launchpad for a business in America." Green played coy when asked about a second U.S. store location and wouldn't confirm or deny the expansion. If you're in New York City, be sure to keep an eye out for the Topshop van which has been handing out goody bags and gift cards worth between $5 and $500.
