TSA Bans Carry-on Liquids on Flights to Russia Following Toothpaste Threat Alert

TSA is banning carry-on liquids on flights bound to to Russia following the toothpaste threat alert. The toothpaste threat was revealed on Wednesday. The concern is not over a single tube of toothpaste but that multiple terrorists could use items hidden in several toothpaste or cosmetic tubes to construct an explosive device on a plane.

A government source told CNN, "It's real. It's real and we got very good information. It's based on a credible source. We're taking it seriously. So are other countries."

The new TSA ban is currently limited to flights bound for Russia. Russia is on high alert for terrorism at the Sochi Olympics, especially after there were dual terrorist attacks in Russia in Volgograd in December. Take a look:
