U.K. Bans Julia Roberts and Christy Turlington L'Oreal Ads for Being Too Photoshopped
Posted on July 29, 2011A British watchdog agency has banned two L'Oreal makeup ads for being too photoshopped and for being misleading to consumers. The ads feature the typical airbrushed shots of Julia Roberts and of Christy Turlington, showing perfect skin, no pores and no wrinkles.
They say the ads sends a message to advertisers that ads that are digitally enhanced too much will be banned. The group says the ads constitute false advertising, because they misrepresent what the product can do. Take a look:
