U.S. Postal Service Unveils 5-Cent Grape Stamp

Grape 5-cent Stamp

The U.S. Postal Service has launched a new 5-cent Grape stamp. It is targeted at business mialers an will be available in coils of 10,000 The stamp contains an illustration of two clusters of two pinot noir deep-purple grapes growing on the vine.

The stamp was designed by Art Director Derry Noyes. It features an illustration by John Burgoyne. Burgoyne used pen, ink and watercolor to create the artwork.

7.8 million tons of grapes were grown commercially in the United States in 2014 according to the Department of Agriculture. The pinot noir grape is one of the more difficult grapes to grow. They have been successfully grown in the U.S. in states including California, New York and Oregon.
