Video: Anderson Cooper Talks Race With Children

CNN commissioned a study about children and race, and the results were disturbing. Both white and black children showed preference for lighter skin, pointing out the lighter skinned cartoon figures as being smarter or nicer. Not all the children had that bias, though. In this clip we see Anderson talking to a number of children about the issue. The clip is, by turns, heartbreaking and heartwarming. It's not an easy video to watch. But the last two girls interviewed are so sweet and kind, and really don't seem to have any race hangups. So where do young children get these attitudes? At home? Listening to adults? Watching the media? Take a look:
