Walmart to Offer Video Game Trade-Ins

Walmart and Sam's Club will start offering video game trade-ins later this month. The start date is Wednesday, March 26. Customers will get credit toward the purchase of anything in store and online. Walmart also plans to start selling pre-owned video games later this year. Pre-owned games will be sold both in Walmart stores and online at walmart.com.

Duncan Mac Naughton, chief merchandising and marketing officer for Walmart U.S., said in a statement, "Gaming continues to be an important business for us and we're actively taking aim at the $2 billion pre-owned video game opportunity. When we disrupt markets and compete, our customer wins. They'll save money on video games and have the flexibility to spend it however they want."

Walmart says to bring in video games in the original packaging. Walmart associates will scan the UPC code on the case and evaluate the game for obvious damage. The customer will then be offered a trade-in value for each game. Take a look:
